What Happens Here Doesn’t Always Stay Here…

The best time to visit Vegas? Now! Our editor was just on a recon trip, and according to Vegas insiders, between now and Christmas—when it’s less crowded and with ideal temps—is one of the best times for a spontaneous jaunt to Sin City. Here are the top 5 reasons to hit the Strip.

STAY: The highly anticipated NoMad Las Vegas opened just last month, staking its Vegas claim on the top four floors of the new Park MGM resort. In the land of mega resorts, NoMad’s European-inspired style is a welcome respite among ding-and-bling properties. Expect a decidedly residential feel at this hotel-within-a-hotel concept. Keeping in line with the LA and New York properties, the design is a collaboration with French architect Jacques Garcia, who takes his cue from the desert yet incorporates a playful nod to the Strip. The baller suite? The Suite Royal Premier—a 2,000-square-foot pied-a-terre with a dining room, high-top bar, and billiards table. Don’t miss dining at The NoMad Restaurant, helmed by Chef Daniel Humm and Restaurateur Will Guidara.

EAT: If there’s one thing Vegas does extremely well, it’s dining. This culinary hot spot has a dizzying menu of top restaurants, with the biggest celebrity names in the industry found at nearly every resort. Our picks include Rivea by Alain Ducasse. Located on the top floor of the Delano with commanding views of the Strip, order the scallops and then a Don Julio 1942 nightcap at the Delano’s Skyfall lounge. Also with top city views, the classic, old-school restaurant at The Stratosphere has been reimagined. Helmed by Golden Entertainment Corporate Executive Chef (and winner of the Food Network’s “Chopped”) Johnny Church, try the Tasmanian grass-fed ribeye and the Maryland crab cakes.

SPORT: High-end car racing fanatics must hit the Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club, located 55 miles from Las Vegas. If a fan of exotic sports cars, the action here may be more enticing than high-stakes Vegas blackjack tables. Meticulously curated for the discriminating motorsports fanatic, Club Spring Mountain features preferred track time, special events, exclusive racing opportunities, and wow-factor amenities.

SEE: On the heels of her riveting acting debut in A Star Is Born, Lady Gaga returns to Las Vegas on December 28th in costume and in full effect—at the new Park Theater at Park MGM resort. The residency consists of two separate shows: Lady Gaga Enigma, a brand-new journey of her pop hits, and Lady Gaga Jazz & Piano, which showcases stripped-down versions of her top-charters alongside music from the Great American Songbook. If Billy Idol is more your speed, hit Palms Casino Resort for two sets of five-show Idol runs, kicking off January 18th and returning in October 2019.

SIP: Stay fired up with a nightcap at the speakeasy The Ghost Donkey, located behind a hidden exit door (look for a tiny painted donkey) in the food court at The Cosmopolitan. Not even many Vegas locals know about this, yet our recon turned up a tiny and festive little bar, with just eight seats, two tables, plenty of action, and inspired artisan cocktails.
