The finale among our iconic spring road trip series is San Francisco. With schools just about out for the summer, now’s the time to get ahead of the crowds. For cruising Highway 1 or CA 37 to Napa, just what to drive? We’re partial to the 2019 Porsche 911 Carerra. Happy road tripping.

BOLINAS >> OLEMA > POINT REYES > HOG ISLAND
Drive Time: 50 miles from San Francisco—a 1.5-hour drive with plenty of stops along the way.
STAY: Bolinas is an eccentric little Bohemian surf town; so much so that locals keep removing the Bolinas sign from Highway 1 so visitors have a harder time finding it. A drive further north reveals Olema and the quaint Olema House. The property features 22 rooms and two cottages nestled along four private acres of lawns and gardens. Expect views of Olema Creek, Inverness Ridge, and Mt. Wittenberg.
EAT: Shucking your own oysters? A must-try when visiting Hog Island Oyster Co., your ultimate destination. However, there are additional culinary stars you must visit along the way. Here’s your hit list: Olema’s Sir & Star for dinner, where you’ll enjoy  food that is grown, raised, foraged, or fished locally. If craving Italian, Osteria Stellina in Point Reyes Station is a must. And the Marshall Store, a seafood shack on Highway 1, may turn into your new happy place. Dungeness crab, Sauvignon Blanc, and views of Tomales Bay? Yes, please!
NOT TO MISS: Visit Point Reyes National Seashore and check out the tide pools, then slurp oysters on the other side of Tomales Bay in Inverness at Saltwater Oyster Depot, located near an incredible shipwreck that has inspired plenty of photography.

NAPA VALLEY/SONOMA
Drive Time: About 70 miles, with oh-so-tasty pullovers in route.
STAY: If looking for a country club-esque vibe meets wine country, Meadowood Napa Valley has it all. In between wine tastings, play golf, tennis or croquet, or opt to hike the property’s private trails. Three new swimming pools recently opened, while the new Meadowood Spa features all-suite treatment rooms and the wine inspired, 3.5-hour “From the Vines” treatment which employs vinotherapy and resveratrol to reduce stress and combat free radicals.
EAT: The hottest topic in Napa and Sonoma, other than wine? Where to eat. Solbar’s Brandon Sharpe and Chef Gustavo helm French hot spot Evangeline, dishing such temptations as shrimp etouffee, blue crab bisque, and Parisian gnocchi with white truffle. For brunch, don’t miss a lazy meal at Calistoga’s Lovina (formerly California Kitchen). Get prepped for cycling or vineyard hopping by carb-loading with its signature French toast. And St. Helena’s Goose & Gander is a hot spot for artisan sips (try the Cucumber Collins, made with Hangar One cucumber vodka, yuzu, lemon, pickled cucumber, and huckleberries) and New American fare. Back at Meadowood Resort, The Charter Oak by Meadowood Executive Chef Christopher Kostow and Partner Nathaniel Dorn is a St. Helena mainstay. Order seasonal, only-in-Napa cuisine, and dine al fresco on the cozy patio.
