Sentient Jet Supports Urban Improv as Premier Sponsor of Annual 'Banned In Boston' Event

Leading Private Aviation Company Sponsors VIP Party on April 10 at House of Blues

Braintree, MA - April 8, 2015 - Sentient Jet, a Directional Aviation Capital company, is pleased to announce it is the premier sponsor of Banned In Boston, the annual comedy and music show to support Urban Improv. Banned in Boston brings together celebrities, media personalities, politicians, and business, arts and community leaders for a one-night-only, impromptu show of hilarity, musical satire and skits. The event will be held at the House of Blues on Friday, April 10 which supports Urban Improv’s mission to equip students with the skills they need to become leaders who communicate messages of nonviolence, tolerance, and respect. Sentient Jet is also the host sponsor of the VIP party which will be held in the Foundation Room for all lead supporters, preceding the main event.

"Urban Improv’s programs have had a lasting impact on many students and continue to help Boston youth grow and develop into the leaders of tomorrow," said Andrew Collins, president of Sentient Jet. "As a Boston-based business, we are pleased to be part of this fun and educational evening to support programs that give participants a rehearsal for life."

Urban Improv is an interactive program for young people that uses improvisational theater workshops to teach violence prevention, conflict resolution, and decision-making. The organization's innovative curriculum of highly effective, interactive drama programs helps young participants explore and deal with challenging situations in their lives. Students role-play scenarios involving peer pressure, cyber bullying, racism, homophobia, or violence and experience the consequences of their actions in a safe environment.

Ted Clark, Board Chair of Urban Improv, commented, "Our professional actors and educators lead workshops that offer students the opportunity to explore their own solutions to challenging, real-life situations in an atmosphere that allows them to express themselves, leading to stronger self-esteem and important life skills including conflict resolution, cooperation and leadership. We are excited to put on our 2015 Banned In Boston event with the support of great partners like Sentient Jet that are committed to making a difference in our local community."

Urban Improv has provided thousands of free workshops to Boston schools since its inception in 1992. The organization has presented to over 65,000 students at more than 120 schools and community groups throughout Boston, New England, and beyond.
